Why “Learn Always”?

If I had to select a motto, or the words that I live by, Learn Always would probably come out on top. The phrase is straight-forward, succinct, and powerful, and it holds personal meaning for me. I have always loved learning. I loved going to school as a student, and I still love it every day as a teacher. I have a paper weight on my desk in my home with the phrase engraved on it, and it reminds me every day of the importance of learning, of discovering, of exploring, of questioning, of bettering myself. It is how I have chosen to live my life, both personally and professionally, and it is what I wish for each and every one of my students. Learning for me is joy, and my purpose as a teacher is to make that so for all students.
